Back in June, Tucker started getting really picky about eating his food. Then he stopped eating all together, so we quickly took him into the vet. He was diagnosed with lymphoma and our vet (who is absolutely amazing) gave us our options. Chemo can only offer maybe a year of life, and is very expensive so we chose to try an alternate that our vet suggested.
We knew he wouldn't have very much time so we made sure to give him the best life we could. Tuck's main goal in life was to be petted by anyone and everyone, so we obliged. Most rules went straight out the window; he got table scraps, cuddled with us on the couch and in bed . . . we even started giving him wet food with his dry (Ellie was not having any of that though, so we had to give her a little too!). The meds made him super ravenous, so he would literally eat anything and everything including anything that was left on the counter like 3 loaves of bread! Whoops! He never seemed sick, and was his usual self up until last week. We were forced to make a very difficult decision, but the last thing we wanted was for him to suffer at all.
Needless to say, we are devastated by our loss, especially Elle who has lost her favorite play buddy. However, we were so lucky to have Tuck for the time we did and so grateful that he gave us so much love in return.
We love and miss you so much sweet boy.
