Green & Yellow Wedding: The Ceremony!

Mandy did an absolutely amazing job on the ceremony. She wrote such beautiful words and shared great memories and details about us. I could never imagine having someone who wasn't important to us perform the ceremony. We knew we wanted to include our families as much as possible, so it fit perfectly that as the eldest sister and an ordained "clergy" member, she was a great choice! She even included some Shakespeare (Yay!) Lucas and I chose one blessing, and a poem to read and Mandy filled in the rest. We are so very grateful to her for performing the ceremony, to Tara for reading a poem (and walking her son and the ring bearer down the aisle), and to Kristen for reading her blog entry. We are so lucky to have such wonderful family and friends. I really can't thank them enough for taking charge, organizing and dealing with all the important details on the day of the wedding -- thank you again!!!

We started with a blessing. This one is based on the four elements which are essential for life and love.

Tara read an e.e. cummings poem

Kristen read her blog entry . . .

Our families watched . . .

We laughed, a lot!

Lucas comforted me, when I cried.

We laughed some more . . .

There were also some tears . . .

Lucas made up his vows on the spot (how shocking!)

We exchanged rings.

We lit candles to represent our own internal sparks, and the spark we have together.

We were pronounced husband (YAY!) and wife . . . sealed with a kiss!

And then we were married . . . go ahead play the song! Yep, we totally jumped into a burning ring of fire!
